I don't listen to Limbaugh. I did many years ago (10+?). But not in recent years. So I don't know what he said, but it strikes me that trying to silence him . . . or anyone else . . . would violate our 1st Amendment.

Democrats Launch Petition Against Rush Limbaugh After Firing Back at Obama
Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee launches an online petition to express outrage at Rush Limbaugh after he said he wanted President Obama to fail.

The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee has launched an online petition to express outrage at conservative radio host Rush Limbaugh for saying he wanted President Obama to "fail."

"Jobs, health care, our place in the world -- the stakes for our nation are high and every American needs President Obama to succeed," the petition reads. "Stand strong against Rush Limbaugh's Attacks -- sign our petition, telling Rush what you think of his attacks on President Obama."

The petition comes after Obama warned Republicans on Capitol Hill Friday that they need to quit listening to Limbaugh if they want to get along with Democrats and the new administration.

"You can't just listen to Rush Limbaugh and get things done," he told top GOP leaders, whom he had invited to the White House to discuss his nearly $1 trillion stimulus package.

One White House official confirmed the comment but said he was simply trying to make a larger point about bipartisan efforts.

On Monday, Limbaugh shot back at Obama, opening his show by saying, "I'm the man you should not be listening, according to President Obama."

"I think [Obama] wants me to fail," Limbaugh said. "He's more frightened of me than he is of John Boehner, which doesn't say much for our party."

The remarks came after Limbaugh said last week on his radio show: "If I wanted Obama to succeed, I'd be happy the Republicans have laid down. I don't want this to work. So I'm thinking of replying to this guy, say 'okay, I'll send you a response, but I don't need 400 words, I need four: I hope he fails'."

The committee's online petition includes a YouTube video featuring audio clips of the radio host's recent remarks.

    Limbaugh said he wanted obama's
Universal health care, global warming, liberal do gooder nonsense to fail.
    NOT the man himself.

What's the difference? Limbaugh has acknowledged that obama is his president. If he had conservative ideals he would back obama.

Michael Savage tyhis week as well said the same thing. He was talking about how he believes that BO's direction for the country is wrong and as such he wanted BO to fail in his attempt to push our country in the wrong direction. Savage said that he expected to main stream media to 'edit' his comments and say he wanted BO to FAIL.

DEMs need to get real if they think REPs should NOT listen to Lim.. you can't stop anyone from stoping to do something like listening. 1A and all. (geez*

I do listen to Limbaugh and this is just ridiculous.

What the hell happened to America? Gross displays of pornography in the public are ok but you can't publicly disagree with the messiah.

Ummm... Guys, this is nothing more than phishing for email and mail lists by the dems. It does nothing more. And the emails are just being sent to rush as a spam more than anything. There is nothing at that site about legislation, etc.

It is just spouting off, nothing more.

Kinda like when I put up a website called "www.assaultweaponsbuy.com" and had a form that sent an email to McCarthy every time someone bought a weapon on the HR1022 ban list just to thank her for such a good shopping list! :):

    Funny, spouting off, nothing more.

True that it;s just spam but the DEMs do have some legislation in the works call the "FAIRNESS DOCUTRINE" or something like that that they want to push in Congress this year. Suspect this email is just a testing of the waters...
