    That is a fantastic story , I love it when a firearm has some history behind it. Thank god for those WWII vets, and their accomplisments.

    Wow, that is awesome. Thanks for sharing.

    I am also wondering if there is still a round in the chamber. I scanned the thread but did not see an answer. Guess they never used a bore scope to find out.

    And for the people that retell the stories of those who have served so younger generations can learn and appreciate our heritage.

    Very nice story :yesway::patriot:

    Got to love all steel firearms, plastic isn't going to save you from a sniper round.

    I think that makes me love my 1911 even more.

    I'd like to see the picture he took when he was on Iwo Jima

    This a great story and piece of history that will not be forgotten about any time soon. This just shows how lucky some people are from almost losing their lives while defending our way of life. Thanks for the story and it will be shared with my family who are all retired Marines. They will appreciate such a good historic story like this one.

    wow........incredible....simply incredible

    I bow my head for those who have fallen in name of freedom, extend my hand to those who have fought in the past, and salute those who are serving still.
