Westfork & All -- Yes, most clubs welcome any and all visitors. If they have a visitors log, please sign it; the clubs get bonus points for visitors. Most places will have an info table, and lots will have a GOTA (Get On the Air) station. Visitors are welcome to try their hand at the GOTA station. Good luck and have fun, Greg

Our call will be N9HZ and our GOTA call will be K9WJU. We looked at several places for this year. Indiana University Health Goshen Hospital really wanted us there and is giving us a lot of support.

I don't know if they were involved in this, but there was a hamfest going on out in front of Menards when I went by Saturday afternoon. Wife asked if I wanted to stop and I said that I would have liked to, but we didn't have time.

I hope it all went well.

I thought we might get to see pictures of what some were doing for field day.
I guess I will start that off and see if we get others. Goshen Amateur Radio Club was set up on aIndiana University Health Goshen lot. Just south of Goshen College. With the railroad and powerlines we did have a fair ammount of noise. The walking/bike trail along the railroad did allow quite a few people to see what we were doing. Some did stop to watch and ask questions. Location wasn't perfect but from an emergency practice aspect it may have been good. Close to a hospital. We had figure out how to deal with noise issues. In an emergency you will have to deal with that you have and not pick an ideal situation.

    Now pictures

My lift with VHF and GOTA antennas. 2 meter beam, 6 meter loop and the GOTA 10-80 windom was hung from the footstep the beam was at about 55 ft when the lift was extended.

Since we were running all of our 3A radios at the time I made 2 20 meter contacts with my call and !B IN

Our HF phone and CW operators had to suffer and sit in an airconditioned vehicle. So why did VHF, Digital and GOTA have to use cargo trailers and a canopy for shade?
