Glad he got away with as little harm as he did. Always have been a fan. No-one deserves that kind of treatment. Hope his day in court results in some people being unemployed. Sadly, I'll not be holding my breath waiting for that, tho.

If that is really why he was walking with a cane and sitting down during performances, he still was when I saw him in 2009...he was still having problems from it. I was walking out of the concert through an alley and he was leaving out of the back of the club. I spent 5-10 minutes having a nice conversation with him about the state of most genres of music today, motorcycles, and I thanked him for the hits he wrote as well as the majority of music he performed. He was a genuinely nice guy. I really enjoyed the show and having a chance to speak with him after (the club announced security would be out making sure nobody bothered him but he was more than happy to tell them to back off as I mentioned in passing that it was a great show and that was when he called me and another guy back towards his SUV to talk for a few). I'd see him again if he had another show up this way.

For those that would like seeing him...

In 1985 I saw DAC, Mel McDaniel and Hank Williams Jr. in Jackson Mississippi. DAC stole the show and after he was just hanging out drinking and BSing with people. I have been wanting to see him again. He isn't getting any younger.

I saw Hank Jr. with what was left of Lynyrd Skynyrd and .38 Special. The remainder of Skynyrd put on a good show but Hank put on an insane show. Him and DAC at a show together would have been awesome. When I saw DAC, people were sending doubles of different whiskeys to the stage. He'd take a sip and call out what it was. I'm guessing he would have been an interesting guy to party with when he was a bit younger.

Were these sworn LEOs or Casino Security personnel? BIG difference IMHO. One is sworn to uphold the law, serve and protect and the other is paid to uphold and serve the interests of the business. Either way, it seems they blew it. Roughing up an old guy on the Casino floor cannot be good for business, and there was no apparrent reason to keep him from leaving the property. While I do not know what else was being said during that exchange, it seems you would just say "Yes, I won the jackpot, where do I pick up my money?"

Maybe they didn't call him by his name..........

Call me crazy, but I bet audio would probably give a better outlook on the whole situation.

Yeah, I'm sure we would hear a great reason for them to slam an old guy to the floor! We've seen it time and time again, words are enough provocation to be attacked by cops. No defending it, pure and simple thuggery. Karma is a real ***** though.:xmad:
