I've been searching for a way to do it. I'd like to be able to keep a rifle, specifically an AR, concealed in my Jeep Wrangler. I was hoping to find a strong/lock box for this purpose. But haven't found anything for a rifle yet.
Jeeps are rather small inside compared to a truck and a car. I'd like to find something where I could leave the rifle in without fear of being seen and stolen. Plus being able to find a place inside the Jeep.

    Anyone have any ideas?

How much space are you willing to use?

    The whole back end?

    Just behind the rear seat?

    Or, under the rear seat?

I may end up with the last one, so I can keep my seat. They ain't cheap, though!

    Get an AK.
Tie it to the bottom of the Jeep with baling wire.

Had to offer something. Sorry I'm not familiar with the interior of jeeps.

If you had a CJ you could bolt a cop type vertical rack right to the dash, now that would be cool

Or under the hood! Make a rack on the bottom of the hood!

"Excuse me sir, do you have motor problems?"
    "BACK THE **** UP"

Edit: must also be an AK47 so that the gun doesn't melt.

Don't see why not. Long guns aren't regulated. No LTCH needed! It is a rifle, after all....

Yeah, yeah, I'm sure there is SOME code out there for this....

bore larger than half an inch... check

expels a projectile by means of explosion... check

suitable for sporting puposes... not according to the .gov (since when is FUN not a SPORT?)

    = destructive device

Check out some of the stuff at quadratec.com

This! Everything for a jeep. I have the large tuffy security drawer in my 06 unlimited. It's awesome, but would delete the rear seat in anything but an unlimited. In the unlimited you can keep the rear seat. Very tough, and can essentially be double locked because it is so close to the rear access that if you lock the drawer AND the rear access door you get double protection.

Party pooper! It would make a heck of a coyote gun (by the pack).

Maybe a .50 cal could be more "sporting"? Definately need a stamp for it, though!

    Back on topic:
I order from 4WD.com now and then. You can get stuff delivered to 4Wheel Parts on the east side for free, usually. I think JCWhitney also carries Tuffy products, and you can sometimes find a deal there.

Even if you don't go with Tuffy, I would stick with a steel/metal box rather than plastic. Especially if you will have a $1000+ rifle in it!
