I am looking for suggestions on a compact handgun that I would use for CC. The main issue I have is I have larger hands and the small compacts like the Ruger LCP just doesn't feel right. I don't like the fact that I can't get all my fingers wrapped around the handle.

Any suggestions? Or do I just need to sack up and get get used to handling a smaller handgun?

you can always get your hands on a wheel gun, and change to larger grips to better fit your paws.. but then you're going to have a bulge.. are you carrying a gun, or just happy to see me?!:D

This is my RIA Compact, and I love it. Carry it every day and leaves me at want for nothing. Okay, a little less weight would be okay:

I have the same problem with the smaller semi-autos. I found the Ruger SR line to be perfect for me. I orginally was going to go with a SR9, but when I saw the SR40 is almost the exact gun size wise I went with it. Great gun and easily concealable

You might want to look at the Beretta PX4 Compact. The staggered mag makes it a little wider than some like for CC but if you have large hands it might fit better.

You get 14+1 with the 9mm and 12+1 in the .40 I believe.

The Glock 30 is 1.27" thick. It holds 10 .45 rounds. The gun is considered a sub compact, which maybe a little too short for your hands 4.8" tall.

Honestly, your best bet is to go to a range and test fire a few handguns. Buy whatever feels right in your hand and you can shoot the best.

I carry a Kahr CW9, which is slightly larger than a Kahr CM9 (pocketable). It shoots great and is very reliable. It is small enough I can carry but has a lot more to hold onto than my G27 without extension. YMMV and good luck!

For years I carried a Glock 26 9MM. Now I've mostly switched to a Springfield XDs .45ACP.....it's even thinner. I like them both. :yesway:

May look at a glock 19/23? Compact but extremely concealable. Or the m&p? It can't be to hard to conceal those or a g26/27. I'm thinking I'm gonna go with an XDS next due to it being the size of a shield and a 45.

I'm totally happy with my Ruger LCR. The grip feels great. It has taken some getting use to having nothing for the pinky to grab unto, but that is the trade off for me. Easily disappears into a pocket.

I also have big hands and I carry a G26 with the pinky extention or I have a G19 mag with pierce slip-on grip extention both work well.

Not mentioned is the Bersa BP9CC, its a nice thin gun, probably in line with the Kahr CM/CW9. Pretty close to the Ruger LC9 and slightly bigger to me than the XD-S.

I carry a Glock 26 with the pinky ext. It is easy to conceal and easy to shoot. I also carry a Glock 19 from time to time. Both work well for me and both are very reliable.:patriot:
