I carry a Remington R1 1911 in both a shoulder holster and OWB and I enjoy shooting it. During the warmer months I would like to continue to carry a .45. What compact .45 would you suggest?

In a 1911 design, I would consider a Colt New Agent. Lots of these little buggers will take some tweaking to get as reliable as a full size, so I'd opt for one designed for deep carry in a "snag free" set up. Gutter sights take some getting used to, but its a good one. Glock's offerings are always a good choice...unless you want a single stack.

Just got back from my local shop and they had a Sig 1911 with the full 5" barrel and a shortened grip. That would be really easy to conceal carry and you get your full length barrel. Also had night sights and front strap checkering....sweet pistol.

I carry a Kimber Ultra CDPii. Always been a good gun for me. If I had it to do over, I would go with the Pro CDP, or whatever they call their commander sized one.
