    Thats awesome, its about time some PD's get smart about this. If they go about it the proper way, its no different than a gun manufacturer selling a gun to a dealer to sell to the public.

    Actually, a smart money maker would be to buy guns off people who shouldn't have them and then resell them to people who should :)

    I always wondered in those programs, if a gun was stolen, would it be returned to the rightful owner, or destroyed as it was seized.
