I have Class III question for anyone that can help. My father has an MP5 and was wanting to know the process of properly putting a stock on the pistol. It has the reciever already on it and is ready to accept a stock.
Would this be a Form 1 process to build a SBR?
Also can the stock be bought without any special circumstances from any ley person/dealer/show/etc?
If the stock can be obtained without any paperwork, can it be bought and held seperate from the pistol until all paperwork process is completed?
Thanks in advance for any help/direction.

This is where you went afoul. You do NOT want to have possession of the parts to assemble an SBR without a tax stamp.

File form 1, wait your time, get your stamp, and then build your SBR.

That was my main question also as to the process and the timing on when to purchase the stock for the pistol... I'll pass the info on to my father and let the fun paperwork begin for him lol.
    Thanks for the info.

You buy the stock while he holds the pistol. No constructive intent if you don't have the two together.

At least that's the way I see it.
