Was wondering if anyone knows of any updates to weather there has been any progression on legislation possibly allowing or not allowing CF rifles in some areas in Indiana's general rifle season?

First of all, no action by the legislature (Indiana General Assembly) is needed for the DNR to make the proposed changes in the cartridges or types of weapons legal for deer hunting in Indiana. DNR/NRC can do this by rule/regulation changes. That is where we are now. The changes regarding “loosening” rifle cartridge limits were “preliminary adopted” at an NRC meeting on September 16. Future steps in the process include at least one public hearing, ample opportunity for oral, written, and electronic comments, and final adoption by the NRC. It is my estimate that the matter will not be heard by the NRC before its January meeting. Currently, no date has been set (or at least not publicized yet) for a public hearing.
