As reported in the Johnson County paper Daily Journal, Police report section, for May 12:

    "Shots fired"

"...A census worker reported at 12:39 p.m. Monday that she approached a home with a "no trespassing sign." As she was leaving information in a gate, she heard a gunshot. She announced who she was and heard a second gunshot. She then left the property. "

    Thank goodness noone was hurt!
Does that gunshot count as a "threat" and can she press charges?

Maybe just maybe the home owner was in the back target shooting and couldn't hear here.
No since she is a census worker she was probably getting shot at.

    Return fire?

Census workers in Brown county almost always hear gunfire. It's as common as the sound of a jet passing overhead. Saturday mornings around here sounds like camp Perry on opening day. Camp Atterbury can also be heard on ocassion with mini guns and bombs. Wow, "I love the smell of Napalm in the morning". Maybe just a Census worker from the city misinterpreting the sounds of recreational shooting.

I wonder if census workers can return fire???

Well, I know of at least one that carried, and would have slept soundly after dropping anyone that threatened them. Something for all the folks who think they are tough guys threatening women and retirees to think about, perhaps.

Hmmm, let's see: Stranger goes on property clearly marked "No Trespassing." Stranger confronted by homeowner. And you would be alright with the trespassing stranger SHOOTING THE HOMEOWNER??

    WTF???
