Meds - I always have Benadryl for bites or allergic reactions, plus a small vial of benadryl topical. Alleve and a stronger pain med, immodium, salt packet, come Theraflu tabs, and daily vitamins.
    - I carry a small tube of Vaseline to sub for lip balm, hand lotion, skin moisturizer, and general lubrication and rust protection of stuff.
    - I travel out of country sometimes, so I have an assortment of sutures. It's amazing how medical people in 3rd world countries want to re-use items and you want someone working on you using a fresh suture set.
    - small bottle of providine along with the tube of Neosporin.
Lifestraw - weighs nada and is small, but keeps you from getting sick from sketchy water.

Should have added: if you're smart enough to prepare, make the carry-on a comfortable pack you can sling on and run with. I have been using a LOWE Contour 30 daypack for 17 years that is still going strong. Teardrop shape, green and black that is muted but doesn;t scream "TACTICAL!!" and fits under any seat or overhead storage.
