Can anyone tell me if the Brownsburg Conservation Club is still open? I used to be a member in the early 1990's and would like to find a place to shoot my rifle outdoors again. :do2:

They are still open. I have never shot there. I called them when I was looking for a place to shoot. The information I had gotten from them is that they are a trap and skeet club only now.

The reason I heard was that at some point awhile back a round got loose either shot over the backstop, or hit the glanced off the ground and ended up in a little girls arm some ways away. Whether this is true or not, I can't say for sure. But, it's what I heard. Either way, I'm pretty sure they are shotgun only.

I also saw a lot of information when I was searching for them online that lead me to believe someone, or some group, had been pursuing some legal action against the club due to increased lead levels in the drinking water in the area. I have no idea whether this may or may not also be a contributing factor.

Perhaps someone here will know something about any of this?

It's open, but it's shotgun only. The rifle range was shut down. If you can go a little further west, check out the Danville Conservation Club.
