Yes, but you must read the Euro version of the book that has the lost chapter that is missing from the US versions. Otherwise the story is lost.

Dont belive me? I have an original hardback copy of the US version released in 1963 and a newer paperback re-release of the Euro version for the US market from the late 90's I think.

One has more chapters than the other. And the story continues after Alex leaves the hospital.
