So there it is... $591 delivered. I will install on my stripped Del-Ton lower. I can't wait for a project!!!

I put a bunch of options on it, all pretty inexpensive, but it adds up and its all brand spankin' new. Bought everything from Midway USA.

$670 for a complete AR15, take off the not necessary and its about $514 with the discount for an operational weapon and clip.

I am planning on ordering the exact same kit as you with some additional extras and then purchasing other extras from Midway. Let us know how it goes.

Enjoy the addiction and sickness that comes with that evil black rifle. It is contagious enough that I have infected my wife. I might be able to steer you to a better price on PMags

I'm all ears on the PMags. I also want to get a ranger clip, and a clip to hook two mags together upside down.

Where to buy ammo now... after shipping etc, is it just cheaper to go to Wal-Mart or somewhere local? I wont need a ton, maybe start off with 500 rounds. I'm sure I will have "friends" coming out of the wood work to go to the range now.

Palmetto State Armory has Federal XM193 brown box (Lake City, brass cased, boxer primed, 55 grain) for $5.69 per 20. I just bought 400 rounds, and it runs perfect.

    Federal XM193C

    Edit: damn $5.49 now.

Everything looks pretty good, but just beware that if your groups are not what you expect it might be that carry handle I don't trust anything made by NCStar. You will love it though and it probably wont be your last :)

Should I be shooting 55 grain or 62 grain? I was looking at Lake City 5.56 NATO 62 Grain XM855 FMJ on 10 Round Clips in Ammo Can of 420

Lake City 5.56 NATO 62 Grain XM855 FMJ on 10 Round Clips in Ammo Can of 420 $149.00

Gander mountain wants $219 for the same I think.

Have a 1:9 twist chrome lined barrel

It depends on the rifle. my last one with 1:9 twist shot everything from 55gn to 64gn just fine. That one seemed to like the 62gn green tip the best, my 1:7 likes privi 75gn best

1:9 and 1:7 can both handle 55 and 62 grain rounds just fine.

If your interested in 62 grain steel cored XM855/SS109 rounds, checkout PMC X-Tac

Palmetto has them the cheapest at $5.99 per box. I debated on the the X-Tac or XM193, when I bought, but went with the cheaper XM193, since I already have some SS109 stored back if needed.

I just thought the ammo box and stripper clips were cool. I'm pretty shallow.

I read reasonable reviews on the NCStar. My biggest reason for buying it was that it seems pretty utilitarian to have a carry handle first and foremost. I think I was originally going to get a UTG, but it was back ordered.

Rest assured, I WILL be getting a sight/scope and looking for recommendations. I am leaning towards a holographic. Never used one, and don't really know how they work. I have seen prices all over the place from $50 bucks to $500 for what seems the same. I won't be doing tactical maneuvers with this rifle, so I dont need something bullet proof, just accurate.

NCStar and UTG are parts that are made and assembled in China. They usually are o.k. if you only have a range rifel, just don't go out and expect much from them.

The UTG hand grip I got says "made in USA" pretty clearly... got great reviews also. Maybe its a Chinese Co manufacturing in the US? Fine with me I guess. It was $59 bucks or so and anodized aluminum.

I've never looked into loading AR mags with stripper clips, but I looked it up, and found this.

I wouldn't mind getting 420 rounds of that stripper ammo, and one of these stripper LULA loaders too.

44mag.com has black teflon coated D&H magazines for $8.00+. These are real good mags.
Wideners has a good price on IMI M193 and IMI M855. Both are excellant.
Aim has a good deal on PMC X-TAC (62 gr.).
