It's been on my "Wish List" for several years but not in my budget. Had to save a few pennies, but I finally bit the bullet and ordered two Wilson Combat Tactical Supergrades, each one will be unique, totally different from the other.

Must say that the folks at Wilson are great to work with. Unfortunately, the build time on these two totally custom pieces will be about 14 to 18 months. Looking forward to posting some pics here around Christmas 2013 - New Years 2014. Yeah, its a long time out. But from everything I've heard about Wilson, and the WC pieces I've seen, the wait will be worth it.

Can't find a single fault with either of my two WC 1911s. I couldn't stomach the wait, and couldn't swing the price, so I had to settle for picking mine up on the secondary market, but congrats! I can't imagine you will be anything but well pleased when they show!

Wow, congrats man!! I'm so jelly. Make sure you post pics when it comes in and do a full range report.

Unfortunately I couldnt swing the coin for a Wilson so I'm putting in an order today for a Dan Wesson Specialist in stainless. Won't be as cool as yours sadly, but at least no big wait.

14 months... ouch! Will be so worth it.

One will be high polish blue, the other will be Armor Tuff, all black. I plan to use the AT for my EDC. Both will have bull barrells, bushingless. Grips and engraving will be different on each one, and the type of font. Will have tritium sights on the AT, gold bead on the high polish blue.

Holy cow that's a long wait. Is that normal or is there something special about your order that will delay it?

I think that's the going build time for the supergrades right now. I don't think my order is more special than any other supergrade. I know its a long wait, but not nearly as long as it's been on my wish list. ;)

Holy Crap Batman, it feels like my Wilsons will never come in.

The World ends on December 21st my Dear Robin so you really don't need them.

OP, I think you'll fall in love with the gold bead front sight. I had WC make one for me and it is terrific.

I know you're right about those sights and I can't wait. Each piece has its intended use. The gold bead is intended more for the range, the tritium more for carry. I customized each of these pieces especially for these applications.

Wilson makes great guns, they also make great sights. I have a Remington 11-70 police model with Wilson ghost ring sights. Awesome sights.
