Wait a minute.... You mean to tell me the actual events were not as portrayed by the nightly news and the "ows protestors"?

I'm shocked! Shocked I tell you!

These ows protestors are useful idiots for Marxist pigs ... and nothing more.

So what is the current status of LEO members that were sanctioned, suspended, or whatever?

I hate the liberal media for slanting stories. What next, Obama is really the messiah? Oh wait, they did that already.

Yeah, they are no better than those crazy Egyptians protesting their Gov. Or the kids protesting back at Kent State.....or the Tea Party protesters...it was a non-violent protest, as soon as the first rock or bottle was thrown...then it's on. But until then the popo need to stand in readiness, not start dishing out summary judgement.

Are you KIDDING Me!?!? Do you really mean to suggest that the Armed and Armored RIOT police had NO OTHER CHOICE than to pepper spray these UNarmed kids? Right. Two dozen heavily armed men couldn't find a better resolution...like walking around them?!? Please...These cops are an illustration of everything that is wrong with our police today. it is HARDLY necessary to send two dozen fat, pissed-off high-school educated brutes armed to the teeth with military weapons and armor to handle a bunch of Californian CHILDREN. Five men in polo shirts with zip-ties could have cleared that path in less than a minute, issued citations, and NOT created a scene out of '1984'. Ridiculous. For all of you 'good' cops out there...you should be OUTRAGED at the behavior of these thugs, not trying to defend them. There are plenty of places around the world you can join the police force to beat up on your own neighbors...America cannot be allowed to be one of them. Shame on all of them.

Preventing the police from leaving is not peaceable. You address these things through the courts and through the legislature, not through holding the police.

Just out of curiosity, how do you know they're high school educated?

And what does them being "armed" have to do with anything?

And what military weapons do they have?

(kut thinks you sound like a gun grabber)

Your hyperbole does your position disservice.

    A) High-school (or GED) is the minimum requirement for UC/Davis police.
    B) What does "armed" have to do with anything? When your only tool is a hammer, every problem becomes a nail.
    C) Hyperbole, to make a point...campus police should write parking tickets and escort drunk co-eds back to safety. There are already at least 2 different professional police organizations (outfitted with swat/riot if necessary) that have jurisdiction over UC davis...The county and the state. Should things spiral into violence (without help from the campus police) there are pleny of resources available to them.

    D) Damn right I'm a gun grabber...from the government. Arm the people, not the machine.

If nothing else it looks to me like there was alittle mob action being attempted by the protesters.

Then A, you are also probably high school educated, with makes one wonder why you brought the point up.

B, not sure if you noticed, but this is a gun owners website, where most of the members carry their "tools" daily. Have been too many instances of members "hammering" anything.

And C, as someone already stated, hyperbole does you no service in making your point.

Do you read your posts? What a series of hollow straw-man arguments.
    Stick to the topic.
In case YOU haven't noticed I am NOT talking about private gun ownership. I am referring to the heavy-handed tactics of the UC Davis Campus police. My argument is that first: they need NOT be armed, they are CAMPUS POLICE. Second: I argue for a better-educated police force. Every mechanic in my shop has a college degree. It makes a difference in my shop, it makes a difference on the street. Third: I argue that hyperbole has a place in my post, It certainly got you riled up.

I noticed the language of your posts. In which you paint the UC Davis officers as uneducated, unfit, and ultra violent.

It makes no difference whether it or not you're talking about private gun ownership or not, you referenced "military" weapons, which as we all know, is a "gotcha" phrase used by the media to demonize ANY type of gun ownership.

Pepper spraying someon in the face, especially after refusing to let you leave, is hardly "heavy handed."

Actually it made me dismiss you because hyperbole in such a discussion is a clear indicator that you have no desire to have a reasonable discussion about the topic, you're going to discuss and argue from an emotional standpoint and as such to respond in kind is a waste of effort.

Yes, my argument is that "UC Davis officers as uneducated, unfit, and ultra violent". They are Campus police.

Are you serious? it makes a HUGE difference! Private Gun Ownership keeps us free. 'Public' gun ownership keeps us under the yoke.

And finally, your pepper spray comment. You clearly have no idea how dangerous pepper spray is. Have YOU ever been pepper sprayed? How about for sitting on a sidewalk while asserting your constitutional rights? Are you allergic to Oleoresin Capsicum? If you are you could DIE.

For sitting on the sidewalk you paid to use.

Oh, gosh...people might have to walk around you...you deserve to be attacked by the police.

We cannot allow this to occur, else how long do you think it will be before someone does that to YOU in the name of 'law and order'?

So a high school diploma makes someone uneducated? Classist much? Also kinda not understand what campus police implies...

Oh, so guns arent tools? They're items of oppression? Can't have it both ways bro. What's good for the goose.

You're talking out of turn...lol. The better question is have YOU been sprayed before.

For sitting on the sidewalk you paid to use.

Oh, gosh...people might have to walk around you...you deserve to be attacked by the police.

Uh what part of being "surrounded" are you missing? How do you walk around a circle from the middle? Sounds like a Polish joke.

We cannot allow this to occur, else how long do you think it will be before someone does that to YOU in the name of 'law and order'?

    Wow...circular logic at its best.

A gun is a tool of oppression, in the hands of oppressors. It is a tool of freedom, in the hands of the free. It is not having it both ways.

Talking out of turn? OK. I have been pepper sprayed, at the hands of my ILEA instructors during training for my previous career...as a police officer. I had a long discussion about it with my horrified next-door neighbor...a research physician. I'm probably not an expert...but talking out of turn? LOL

Only one direction was blocked by protesters, the circle was made of spectators. There is a difference.
