Beautiful weather this weekend, so I couldn't let it go to waste. Took the ex-girlfriend hunting, shooting and up to the fire tower in the Deam wilderness. Good fun, killed nothing but some paper and saw some beautiful trees changing colors.

Wait. Took the EX-girlfriend hunting? :D

Wish my Fiancee would like to go hunting. She had a Mary Kay event today, so I went hunting (more hiking). I have a good 2 miles of pretty rough country hiking. Good exercise. Saw only one squirrel. Couldn't shoot in that direction. Didn't find any good spots for deer hunting either. But what a beautiful day.

Looks like you were practicing for "When Dogs Attack!" (shooting at the ground)

So let's here the story of why she's the Ex. . .

on the way home tonight I decided to go round the block to scout any deer as it was just after dusk. I couldn't shoot any for several reasons but my dear spweet law biding wife say shootem, SHOOTEM. The kids are joining in and I am thinking right....

    A. Doe wasn't very big to start with
    B. still had a fawn with her
    c. it isn't season for gun yet
    d. I was in my truck ( not legal )
    e. Only had my taurus 45 with me. ((not optimal for hunting) I don't hunt with pistols)
    f. no clear shot because of nearby homes in the back ground..

Good thing season is only a few more days away, and they were walking distance from my back door. Where there are a few that close to humanity, there are more in the woods out back... HOPEFULLY!

Well, I was thinking just the opposite Nate. If she is an ex, there might be a reason, and it might not be the best idea to give her a gun while you 2 are out in the middle of nowhere. Just a thought.

+1 given my ex's. Might as well bring a shovel and tarp...

Glad you both had a good time! (and you both came back)

Yup. It was fun, and no-one got shot. All around good day IMO :rockwoot:. We're still on good terms. We both like shooting and got our LTCH's together last year :draw:. We're still really good friends. Hunting partners are always good too :yesway:.

Targets were against a berm on the ground...we were more prepared for hunting than target shooting lol

    Long story...2 years together...2 separate break-ups...long story...:n00b:
