I was in Bass Pro last week looking for a certain holster.
Me and two clerks could not find one listed for my model.

They do carry my model handgun in the case so they take a holster up to fit check it.

It appears that none of them where authorized to remove the trigger lock on the gun.

They said as much, that they where not allowed. Now I never had the gun in my hand, they where
the ones seeing if the gun would fit. So they where not even allowed for their own use.

I thought that kind of a funny rule, I can see if they handed the firearm to me, but that was not the case.
I have never seen that anywhere else?

I have never purchased a firearm from them, and I don't expect to anytime soon, price...
How do they handle a sale? Do they give you the key to the trigger lock and escort you to the door?

The trigger lock was an obstruction, and we could not tell 100% the holster would fit.

It seems to me, there is a trust issue. I look at it this way, if you can't trust your employee, they shouldn't be an employee. The second look would be train them, and they will be cautious, if not they would be seeking employment elsewhere. Anyway off my tangent, it is a shame that customer service didn't all for customer satisfaction. --"One Man's Opinion!"

I bought a rifle at Rural King and never touched the trigger till it was out of the stores possession. We all know what minimum wage help is capable of but you would think selling holsters someone could accommodate your request?

Ah yes, Corporate Lawyers and rules, I looked at a Savage Axis in a Dick's last fall, they brought it out from the back since they didn't have any on the shelf. Guy at the counter said he couldn't let me handle it since it didn't have a trigger lock...the gun had no bolt in it....i looked at him half stupid, he said "it's policy".

So many idiots in the world that these things seem necessary for some companies to have this type policy.
It is a burden on others with proper intent and experience.
