I am an average re-loader. I understand the concept and enjoy adding steps that improve the accuracy and quality of the round. However, I am wondering if there is a "trick" to seating a ballistic tipped round, considering the density of the tip, and pressing on it etc, Any help, or advice is appreciated.

Your bullet seating stem likely doesn't have sufficient clearance for the ballistic tip - and is pushing on the tip instead of the meplat.

Some die manufacturers will make the modification for free, or supply a different seating stem.

If the die manufacturer wants to charge you for it it - ship me one of your projectiles, the seating stem and $10.

Are you saying you have had problems with seating, or you're just worried you might? I use the ballistic tips quite a bit and really haven't had any problems. Perhaps I'm using a seater that contacts the "meplat" rather than the tip, but I've never checked. If you haven't checked your meplat, you may want to. I know a good doctor I can refer you to ;-)
