Astounding shuttle launch footage

This is footage compiled from STS-114, STS-117, and STS-124 using high speed cameras on or near the pad. It's 45 minutes long and I was enraptured by it.

I saw a night shuttle launch in 1998. Fair to say I have never seen anything like it. It literally lit up the sky as if it were high noon. It was also fun to have flashlights from patrol boats shined on us. Luckily all we had was beer.

I was fortunate to be a guest at the Cape for the very first shuttle launch.. There's nothing more impressive and inspiring than witnessing it close-up.
