I'm going to get flamed big time, but my WASR 10/63 is just good as an Arsenal, minus receiver dimples, "worn out, mismatched surplus" parts, and a finish that isn't worth a darn. I can get 4" groups with my WASR at about 50 yds and I'm sure if I had a rest and more training I'd do better.

I'd recommend the WASR 10/63 ONLY if you can check it out before you buy. It's a good AK for the price :flamethrower:

I won't flame you Mosinguy. Dimples don't mean anything. My 10/63 operates flawlessly even thought the mags shake.

Having said that, the Arsenal is a good rifle. The OP is on a worthy quest. I hope he finds one.

I love my SGL31-62. After owning cheap stuff from CAI for years, It really changed the way I look at the AK's. The work done to it is flawless, and I think you would be hard pressed to find a nicer Kalishnokov. Here is the 25 yard test target it came with :smileak:. It's one of the better test papers I've seen.

I've been wanting an AK and have been looking at the Arsenal SLR-106FR. It's 5.56mm/.223 which is great for me because it maintains my ammo commonality with my AR platform rifles. One less caliber I have to keep on stock. This and I've also heard they are quite accurate.

I had a WASR-10/63 that left me in bad favor with AK's. It would keyhole at 50 yards consistantly with any ammo I shot through it. Totally unacceptable for any rifle. This has kept me away from the AK platform since I got rid of that rifle. I've only heard superb things about the Arsenal AK's and the fit and finish of the one saw was great.

The 223 AKs by Arsenal are great. The only drawback would be that magazines are not as plentiful as they are for it's 47 / 74 brothers. That said, I'd still love to have one.
