I take it you haven't seen the recent story about the HS girls doing something similar, though quite a bit more offensive. The school is undecided on what disciplinary action to take. Social media cooks someone's goose again.

    Nope.

I did further check the Michael's story.
Was rows of letters, so more than just a couple would have needed moved (to make the word not pop up again)
Maybe 60 seconds worth of work, just pull outside two rows (N, and I) and swap with another outside two rows.
Or just pull the first letters, maybe 2, from a couple of rows, swap (4 pcs) and then go tell mgmnt that somebody was being an arse and an employee needed to rearrange as to not be offensive.

But nooooooooooooo, they left it up, to offend others. Guess they were THAT SHOOK UP they coudn't save anybody else from being offended.
Or waste a minute of their damn time to fix it.

BTW, it was no the N word as of old, but the N word of new, it ended with an "A".
Which I believe is the form of acceptance within a certain subculture.

    So maybe it wasn't racist.

Kids call each other that all the time where my gal teaches school. It's OK to use it within culture, and not to be considered offensive if others hear it....................but then if others see it (as in Michaels case)...............it's suddenly a very bad thing?

    Interesting.

Hell, the Michael's deal might have been a setup for such a FB and other circus.

IMHO it must not have been that offensive...since nobody swapped letters out on their own.
With the rows of letters behind still forming multiples of the word...........

there was proof of intent. And that should have been brought to the attention of mgmnt.

But to leave the front word alone, take pics and then complain..............shows some serious issues with the complaintant.
Enough for me to question the whole deal.

    AS PRESIDENT, BERNIE WILL:

Ban fossil fuels lobbyists from working in the White House. Massive lobbying and unlimited super PAC donations by the fossil fuel industry gives these profitable companies disproportionate influence on our elected leaders. This practice is business as usual in Washington and it is not acceptable. Heavy-handed lobbying causes climate change skepticism. It has no place in the executive office.

End the huge subsidies that benefit fossil fuel companies. When fossil-fuel companies are racking up record profits, it is absurd to provide massive taxpayer subsidies to pad their already enormous earnings. After all, it is immoral that some in Congress advocate harsh cuts in Medicare, Medicaid and Social Security while those same people vote to preserve billions in tax breaks for the most profitable corporations in America.

Create a national environmental and climate justice plan that recognizes the heightened public health risks faced by low-income and minority communities. Low-income and minority neighborhoods will continue to be the hardest hit if we don’t act to stop climate change now. Ten years ago, Hurricane Katrina decimated the Gulf Coast, flooding 80 percent of the city of New Orleans. Some areas of the city were submerged in as much as 10 feet of water, and 28 percent of residents had no way to leave the city. Almost 100,000 African American residents who left New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina never returned. The reality of the impacts of the storm on the African American community in New Orleans exposed the broader trend that low-income and minority communities face the brunt of climate change impacts first and worst.

Bring climate deniers to justice so we can aggressively tackle climate change. It is an embarrassment that Republican politicians, with few exceptions, refuse to even recognize the reality of climate change, let alone are prepared to do anything about it. The reality is that the fossil fuel industry is to blame for much of the climate change skepticism in America. Bernie recently called for the Department of Justice to investigate Exxon Mobil, which may have not only known about the dangers of climate change, but has spent millions of dollars to spread doubt about the causes and impacts of burning fossil fuels.

Fight to overturn Citizens United. In a 5-4 decision in 2010 in the Citizens United case, the Supreme Court opened the floodgates for corporations and the super wealthy to spend unlimited and undisclosed money to buy our elected officials. The Supreme Court essentially declared that corporations, including fossil fuel corporations, have the same rights as natural-born human beings. This decision has enabled billionaires and special interests to increasingly control the political campaign finance system, and amounts to legalized bribery.

    Mmmm.
Ban lobbyists. Isn't that a freedom of speech thing?
Eliminate fossil subsidies. Sounds good to me. I don't think government $$ should go for that.
But surprised a socialist wants that. I wonder what happens to the price of gas? I wonder who it will affect the most? Hint... the poor.
    Bring climate deniers to justice.
    Holy hell in a handbasket.

Why not? I think I remember Bernie saying climate change deniers should be locked up.

"Bring climate change deniers to justice"? What the hell?

Might be nice if somebody would ask him to clarify at a debate.

Michigan State Police Department said Tuesday that a man died after rolling his car on the ramp from the Lodge to I-75 was watching pornography while driving.
The accident happened early Sunday morning just after 3:30. Michigan State Police troopers were called to the ramp from the Lodge to southbound I-75 on a one-car accident. The preliminary investigation revealed the driver of the car was watching a movie while behind the wheel, police said on Monday.
The driver was not wearing a seat belt when he lost control and rolled the car. He was partially ejected through the sunroof and died on scene.

Man was watching porn while driving before fatal crash ? Emma's Paw Prints

On Tuesday, FOX 2 was speaking with Michigan State Police troopers about a different story when MSP revealed the man had been watching pornography and masturbating while driving. MSP also said the 58-year-old man was not wearing pants at the time of the crash.

    I didn't say either/or.

Automated cars would allow people to eat, apply makeup, read their books/magazines/tablets, etc., etc. while traveling. There are a lot of trade-offs that I really don't want, but I can see people doing a lot with that commute time.

One hand to hold the phone, one hand to hold his... er...'gun' - what could possibly go wrong

ETA: Been on that ramp many times leaving the Detroit Gran Prix, strongly decreasing radius curve where if you're a little hot and lift in a rear wheel drive car you will lose control
