And why are they called "Active Shooter"?
I guess I have to confess that Imma inactive shooter. When I go to the range I mostly shoot at static targets, usually paper, and I don't usually move around much while doing it. But in my defense it's mostly because of range rules, which I try to follow by the letter.

You are more active than a handful of guys I see at the range fairly often. They always have a rifle sitting in a rest, with the bolt open, while they fiddle with one gadget after another. They take inactive shooter to a completely different level, but they seem to enjoy it.

^ I admit to having my bolt action in a rest while I tweak my spotter scope and check out each shot. Hey, its not a speed contest! Did this yesterday at Jasper Pulaski on the 100 yard range with my new (to me CZ 452). I can report the CZ is way more accurate than my 15-22.

That's okay. I've come to enjoy shooting an old revolver more than my modern semi-autos handguns. It isn't about how much lead you throw downrange. It is about how much you enjoy it and the skills you build.
