I purchased an AOW on Gunbroker, and now I am in the process of having the gun transfered to me from my FFL. I need to get fingerprinted, and get the signature of the Chief of Police.

I live in Indianapolis, does anyone have any insight on where I go to do this?

You can get finger prints done at the courthouse at the same place you get your Carry License. I think they charge $10 but not sure.

I got mine done in Plainfield for my FFL.
Called and asked if they had someone who could do fingerprints.
Took my son and got a tour of the jail too.
Be sure to ask for some free gun locks too.

The quick and easy answer: Who comes if you call 911? That's where you go.

When I lived in Indianapolis, it was depenedant on boundary lines whether you had to go to IPD or Marion Co SD. I had to go to the Marion Co Sheriff's office.
BUT- That was long before the IPD/MCSD merger, so that could change a lot of things.

    Quick story:
That was my first Class 3 deal. I took my paperwork to the Sheriff's office not knowing how hard it would be and expecting the worst. I told his not-very-friendly secretary what I wanted, and she grumbled for me to drop it in the Inbox (with a big pile of other papers).
I figured right then it would be a struggle, and was already planning on a series of phone calls and return trips. At the very least, I thought I'd have to go back and get it in his hand myself.
That was on a Thursday, I think.
On Monday, it arrived in the mail, signed.
