Anyplace to shoot long range?

Is there any place in Indiana where we can shoot rifles at long ranges? Around 500 or so yards would be nice.

I would like to visit Bass and Buck at some point though. Let me know if you go and want company. I am in Avon.

i shot at bass and bucks last sunday. nice folks. nice range. its kinda tucked away.
for a while my brother and i were only ones there (on the range), and we had pretty great weather (hi 30s and clear). its a neat place. you drive your own truck down to change targets at the longer distances.

I shot my 223 with iron sights at 200 yards for a while... I need new contact lenses!

The Atterbury range only goes up to 100 yards. Hardly "long range."

You can shoot on the Camp Atterbury KD range out to 1000 yards but only during competitions run by the Central Indiana Highpower Rifle Shooters or the Indiana State Rifle and Pistol Assocition.

The DNR range that is called the Atterbury range is across the street from the military property.

Wildcat Valley Rifle and Pistol Club has a 300 yard range. It's up just north of Lafayette.

No, unfortunately. For any real distance past 100 you are either on private property, or making a day-long road trip out of it.

100 yards is good for most occasions, but you don't get any experience reading wind...

There is a huge gun range/ club just west of Borden IN. You can join or a member can take you in for free. Its the ISR&PA.
