That's just what the Italians (i.e. Pietro Beretta and his kin) likes to call the 9mm luger round. What markings do the rounds have on the base? What kind of case is it - brass, steel, aluminum?

It may be Latin, but I believe it was the Germans that developed the cartridge that today is commonly refered to as 9mm Luger, due in large part to the popularity/development of their Luger pistol.
