Anti-Gun "Edit War" At Wikipedia

One of the main problems with Wikipedia is it's wild west editing. Apparently, the minions of the anti-2A organisations are engaging in open warfare with their edits and damaging entries to suit their own point of view, instead of just allowing the facts to be presented. Always a good idea to take Wikipedia with a grain of salt.

Paid anti-gun lobbyists engaged in anti-gun edit war on Wikipedia (allegedly).
I’m saying “allegedly” because these folks probably have an army of lawyers and I’m just stating opinion here, reporting what others on Wikipedia have said.
There are a few people on Wikipedia who have been making edits to gun-rights articles, (allegedly) removing even encyclopedic wording that shows open carry, CCWs and gun ownership in a positive light.

Do the other editors realize that ForwardThinkers is the NEW EDITING NAME of a full-time paid lobbyist for The Coalition to Stop Gun Violence (CSGV)–a gun control group? In fact, “CSGV “was his old editing sign-in name. Talk about conflict of interest! ForwardThinkers has been repeatedly warned in the past not to make substantive edits to gun rights pages by other editors and admins, yet he persists in doing so. This sort of meddling by paid lobbyists and their cronies is POISONING wikipedia, and compromising its neutrality.

Well, at some point the page may be locked by Wikipedia. Depending on the level of protection enabled, editing may be limited to only registered users or even only administrators. The Wikipedia Protection Policy has more details.

I didn't know about that until just last week when I found a page that had a box at the top explaining that only admins could edit that particular page. I tried to find that particular page to share as an example, but for the life of me I cannot find it in my history on either my desktop or laptop.

this sort of thing has been going on for years. i remember reading an article on cnn (i think) about how computers at RJ Reynolds and/or Phillip Morris were used to edit articles on smoking. all discovered by the ip tracking.

i have no doubt that many many topics are edited by both sides all day long.

To the best of my knowledge Wikipedia editors are not paid. They do it for the kicks of knowledge. The anti-2A crowd editors, tho ARE paid, by their respective organisations. They're doing it for biased reasons and to shape an agenda.
