I use the ammo crates. They are sturdy and stack well even when filled to the brim.

Yep, use them all the time. For longer-term storage, I put some desiccant bag inside to be safe. These cans are definitely GTG.

I have some of the ".30cal" and ".50 cal" cans as well as a few of the larger. They are sturdy enough and I have never had a latch failure even when moving around a fully loaded one. I still prefer traditional metal cans for longer term storage but use these for the pantry ammo - that which I will grab for a range trip.

Midway has had great sales on these. I picked up a combo pack that included a .30. .50 and a larger one for like $20.

I just checked, Midway has the 4 .30 cal can ammo crate pack with tray for $24.00 each and the 3 pack w/.50 cans for $28. Free shipping over $49.00

I used to use the plastic cans til we had a house fire, the plastic cans melted and burned all ammo was ruined , but the metal cans i had were all good and ammo was fine, takes very little heat and flame to ignite the mom cans. I quit using them for storage and stick with metal cans:twocents: just my 2 cents from experience
