Camera drones will begin flying around American cities in order to spy on citizens easier from the sky. I like how they work out the kinks on these things by using them in war to spy on enemy troops... then they roll them out on the American public at home. The LRAD also comes to mind.

Drones may be coming to Miami-Dade

I am sure they are working hard to get these things up before spring break. Probably a lottery aleady to see who gets to watch the cameras.;)

Your local JBT recruiting center should have a form you can fill out.

Sweet nothing like a good shiny pair of boots.... As hard as I try and no matter how much polish I use there is just no substitute for human blood to really keep them suckers shiny..

It's not easy to shoot them down. They look pretty small up in that big sky, and the wind really changes once you get over a couple hundred feet up in the air.

It has a ceiling of 25k feet.

Even half of that is well out of rifle range.

All of the "reports" I get about them is that you can hear them, but you can't see them. Even in a clear sky.

I am not even a little nervous of the Drones...

Ask someone who has been to the current theaters at how successful they are at stopping Fighters or shipments of weapons...

I'm more nervious about some idiot trying to shoot down a drone than the drone itself. The best thing that happens is they miss and a 30 cal bullet hurtles back to earth. The worst thing is they shoot it down and an airplane crashes into a neighborhood.

Yep, a drone by itself isn't very useful. Especially if they're just randomly looking for something.

It is useful as a tool in support of ground ops though.

The smaller ones are about the size of a 1/4 scale RC plane with much the same capabilities. The larger ones are slightly smaller than a Cessna with a pretty decent ceiling and speed.

    Someone actually shooting one down...
I like to refer to such a shot as a Divine Intervention Shot. Because it is literally an act of God for someone to actually hit one. Minus shooting one down at take-offs or landings anyway.
