A repost mind you but I found it a little unsettling . . . .

    This is a repost....

A post from the Obamacare website page. "I actually made it through this morning at 8:00 A.M. I have a preexisting condition (Type 1 Diabetes) and my income base was 45K-55K annually I chose tier 2 "Silver Plan" and my monthly premiums came out to $597.00 with $13,988 yearly deductible!!! There is NO POSSIBLE way that I can afford this so I "opt-out" and chose to continue along with no insurance. I received an email tonight at 5:00 P.M. informing me that my fine would be $4,037 and could be attached to my yearly income tax return. Then you make it to the "REPERCUSSIONS PORTION" for "non-payment" of yearly fine. First, your drivers license will be suspended until paid, and if you go 24 consecutive months with "Non-Payment" and you happen to be a homeowner you will have a federal tax lien placed on your home. You can agree to give your bank information so that they can easy "Automatically withdraw" your "penalties" weekly, bi-weekly or monthly! This by no means is "Free" or even "Affordable"

And just think, the crap has not yet hit the floor. Think of all the splatter it will make when it does hit the floor. Watch out and don't forget to duck.

I am sorry for all of us.

Do you have a link to the post?

I reposted it from a repost on Facebook. Snopes is screaming it isn't the truth but then says they can't substantiate or deny the statements made and figures stated.

If it is disinformation then I am quite happy to spread it. It's not like his Highness misrepresented anything. Fight fire with fire I say.

According to what I've heard and 1st result of google search the penalty for not buying health insurance under the first year of Obamacare is $95. I believe it goes up after the first year, but I don't know the penalty schedule. This is one reason why Obamacare won't work and they'll push single payer. Why would a healthy 23 year old buy expensive insurance if the penalty is only $95 and they can just wait until they get sick anyway? The whole concept of Obamacare relies on the young and healthy buying insurance to spread the risk and allow the insurance companies to afford covering pre-existing conditions.

What if I don’t want to buy insurance?
First off: Nobody will come knocking down your door, demanding that you purchase a health plan. But if you decide not to purchase coverage, you will have to pay a $95 tax penalty. This would be deducted from your 2015 tax return.

Damn straight ! Someone goes and lobs volleys across my bow, what am I supposed to do, throw marshmallows back at them??

Me thinks being "nice" is overrated.

At least you can see the above link and at least feel better knowing the FB post is an absolute lie. I personally hope you don't spread it not only for the political, but it does mention something about giving out your bank account information and you start spreading that someone might go ahead and write up an exploit to take advantage of that exact thing.

First off: Nobody will come knocking down your door, demanding that you purchase a health plan. But if you decide not to purchase coverage, you will have to pay a $95 tax penalty. This would be deducted from your 2015 tax return.

Penalty for 2014 is $95 (per person, up to 3 people, yielding $285/household) or 1% of AGI, whichever is greater. Penalty for 2015 is $325 (per person, up to 3 people, yielding $975/household) or 2% of AGI, whichever is greater. Penalty for 2016 is $695 (per person, up to 3 people, yielding $2085/household) or 3% of AGI, whichever is greater. Penalty for 2017 and beyond is identical to the penalty for 2016 save that it is adjusted to supposedly reflect cost-of-living.

So, either you're forced to buy a product and pay for it, even if you don't ever utilize it, or forfeit more of your money to prop up the same system, up to 3% of your yearly income. We fought literal wars for less than this. Now? Everyone shrugs.

This really does **** me off. I have family members and friends without health insurance. The reason they don't have it, is because the cost is too high, given their income. Now the gov forces you to buy a service you can't afford from a private company, and the supreme court calls it a "tax". Clearly, the ins companies have better lobbyists than do ordinary decent people... who voted in these clowns to stab them in the back.

OK, I take it back. Those who voted these clowns into office are not "decent" people. They are idiots. There is evil at work here.

Yes, your concern is based on something isn't even true, but I don't think you should let that stop you.

Interestingly, it appears the easiest way to avoid any penalty tax from remaining uninsured is to simply underpay your taxes each year. If the information in the PolitiFact article is accurate (and it isn't always), then if you are not due to receive a refund the IRS has no means by which to collect your penalty. Speaking as someone who is uninterested in providing the government an interest free loan every year, I never get a refund, so screw them.

Yeah, this false story is worth shutting down the gubment for, might as well since the Repubs and TPers can't find a real, legitimate reason for the shutdown...

Ok, not being a Republican or a member of the Tea Party, I'll give you a legitimate reason for shutting down the government...it is spending far too much.

I suppose at some point, if it won't stop spending more than it takes in or can take in, a shutdown is in order. But this isn't a shutdown because 'essential' employees are still working, Congress among them. I also haven't gotten any of my money back that they took under the guise of governing.

Yesterday the Liberal brain rotting Socialist lie spreading NPR had two excellent guests from some GOP advocacy group and both of them took pains to call this a 'slowdown' or 'slimdown'. The pinko Communist swindling evil Obama voting hostess argued with them over it, but the term is clearly more accurate.
