No CCW is legal in the whole state of Illinois, but the Chicago police have a bit of a history of 'doing what needs to be done' instead of doing what is legal during arrests and detention. Unfortunately they have made mistakes and arrested innocents on more than one occasion and those people have been subject to a very special form of treatment that the CPD seems to get itself in trouble for
