I'm thinking of getting a new 30TC pro encore for a trip out west to hunt some mule deer and antelope. Any feedback on the 30TC and hornady ammo would be greatly appreciated.

I would probably go with a 7mm rem mag or 7mm-08. Gives you flatter shots so you only realy need to worry about wind drift and a 7mm 168gr bullet has a higher BC then the 30cal of equal weight. Just my two cents but I would be afraid of TC dropping the round in a few years. Well here is a link to a review on it.

I'd go with something else, either .308 or 7mm-08. I believe that caliber is already dying out.

I wouldnt worry about the 30tc being dropped if your a hand loader because the same case is where the 6.5 creedmoor comes from and a neck up would get you to a 30tc and from all accounts the 6.5 has really caught hold. I like the concept of the 30tc bascially a 308 with 30-06 power.
