A number of years ago I traded for a WWII Japanese rifle that had been sporterized somewhat and rebored to a .257 Roberts. Since it no longer has any real collector value, I want to modify it some more. The barrel was never cut down in length and it would be nice to have it shortened to a more usable length like modern sporting rifles. I would also like to have the receiver tapped for scope mounts. Can anyone recommend a good gunsmith who can do this at a reasonable cost? I live in Johnson County and hope to find a shop fairly close to me. Is there one out there?
