I never argued there wouldn't be a ban. I watched the same thing happen in 2008. Repub voters shouting from the rooftops that if we didn't vote repub, our guns were guaranteed to be banned. The only people whipping up the ban frenzy were repubs as a campaign tool. They did the same thing this last election.

I don't recall it during the 08 panic but after this last election, those who whipped up the frenzy came out and said there would be no ban hoping to curb shortages. You see, the talk of bans to manipulate voters was great for them. Once Obama won, the panic ensued and all of the sudden they want to talk the panic buyers off the cliff because they could no longer buy guns and ammo at old prices. We'll see the same thing happen again for the congressional elections next year and in 2016.

A coworker asked if he could buy some 22 to kill varmints digging under his pond wall. I scrounged up 200 rounds of partial boxes and gave them to him. He offered to pay and I declined the offer. He came to me with the attitude that he wasn't owed, was in need and was willing to pay. I find that those that are willing to offer something for a favor as payment enough.

Agreed about offering something for a favor is payment enough.

But the election tactics are really off point. The point is, you don't get to say that there were valid warning signs when you scoffed at the motive of the warners as well as the validity of the warnings. Political tactics aside, the people who said that Obama would try to increase gun control were right. He did. I wouldn't doubt that the people who say that a democrat controlled adminstration/senate/house would try for more gun control are right as well, political tactics or not.

The 2A has always been threatened. My issue with the election tactics isn't that there wasn't a genuine threat. It was those using it as a campaign tool for nothing more than scaring people to vote against Obama. Then once the panic ensued and the ubc bill got shot down, many wanted to say no ban was coming because it was now affecting there own personal pocket books.

Panic or not, it didn't bother me. I was prepared. I learned from the 08 panic. Those crying the loudest now didn't learn from 08, they didn't learn from 12, and they'll be caught unprepared when the next panic comes. Pretty silly to help stir the panic and then not be prepared for it.

Well, I'm planning start to teach my boys to shoot around they are about 10 to 12, so I have 8-10 years to stock up.

I'm that kinda person who believes ammo is more important than guns(hint my signature). I bought 1600 rounds before I bought my first handgun, 1000 rd of 556 before I bought my first AR.

I think now is time for me to buy my first 22, I'm eying on the Marlin 60.

Check out the Marlin Appleseed LTR ... The Marlin/Appleseed LTR ... still showing 99 or so available. This is the detachable magazine version of the Marlin 60. Bonus with the LTR is you get a certificate to attend an Appleseed for free ... great gun, awesome accessories, and a lesson on how to properly shoot your rifle ... nothing could be sweeter.

Cabellas in Louisville had a poop load of 22LR this morning. Several dozen 100ct boxes of CCI mini-mags, several 325ct tins of federal.

On one hand, I'm encouraged because it's the first time I've seen that much 22LR on the shelves at one time since before the ****storm began. On the other hand, the box limit sign above the 22 ammo reminds me that it's not over.

I don't understand why foreign ammunition manufacturers don't start importing more ammunition. Any ideas?

Only a guess, but I would figure ATF has a gorilla sized hand in ammo importation the way they have their hand in firearm importation. Make enough hoops to jump through either drive manufacturers away or make them take almost forever to get their stuff to we the people.

Got an email ad today from CDNN advertising American Eagle red box .22LR 500 round box for only $55!!! No thanks!
Lol, got the same email. I wrote their customer service an email about how I am now adding their firm to the list of people that I will never do business with again, including Cheaper Than Dirt and Dicks. Even CDNN did wacky mag pricing during the panic.I can understand pricing going up slightly every so often (and after each panic, just like in 2008), but not 100%. Call it capitalism or me whining in a socialist fashion, but market price is market price. As mentioned before, some idiot is buying it up at that price. For 6 bucks (not even counting shipping, which free shipping was NOT eligible on that product) a 50, I can still handload .38 special for less than that with today's component pricing and have a "real" round to shoot.
