I am a recent buyer of a used S&W 1911sc 45 ACP pistol (commander). It was purchased used and previous owner stated that it had 195 shots fired at the time of purchase. I took it to the range last night and shot 100 rounds through it. Lots of fun, but it did throw brass back at me quite a bit. Seemed more accurate than my H&K P30, but I am a novice so....

Anyway, when I field stripped it and cleaned it last night I noticed a couple of things.
    1) Is it normal for the barrel to have some pits on the outside of it?

    2) Does this appear to be normal wear on recoil spring guide?

I would appreciate any feedback you can give me.

I am considering taking it to my gunsmith to make sure it's working safely.

Looks like a lot of +P has been fed through the gun. Those dents are fairly deep. The gun has probably far more than the round count you were told.
As to the pits, they will not cause you any grief.

Keep an eye on it and if the ears look any worse check the contact points on the slide for damage. Also, if it does get any worse, replace the guide rod. They are not that much and as I stated in PM I have one.
