    After much testing, I've found my hands prefer the 1911 / M&P combination and I'm looking to make the switch.

    I work in an ER, so, due to my experiences, I don't carry a gun that doesn't have manual or grip safeties. Absolutely NO mag disconnect safeties though. Those are just silly.

    Also looking for a compact M&P with thumb safety.

    EDIT: It must have thumb safety already as S&W will not install a thumb safety for some legal BS reasons. I know. Sad :(

    I'm looking for a black (gun metal must be black, don't care what the grip color is so long as it isn't some ridiculous blue or pink color), non-railed 1911 from a reliable brand (Not Kimber). I prefer Springfield loaded/ park, but it's not required. I would prefer it with night sights and an ambi-safety, but those can always be bought and added, so also that isn't absolutely required. I'm not looking for a light version though. Just a regular old 1911. Reliable, black, well built. Preferably night sights and amib safety.
