    You can do the trigger job yourself. If you go over to RimfireCentral.com they have detailed articles with pics of exactly what parts need polished to do a trigger job.

    i bought my 7 year old a 10/22 youth model . the trigger was terrible so i just got a new trigger group for around 100 bucks got it to around 3 pound pull its much better. i'm going to work on the other one some day. i think you can just buy a kit for yours.

    I bought a 10/22 last year that had a 10 lb. trigger pull. I was worried about polishing the hammer myself but, it was very easy. I was able to get the trigger pull down to 2.5 lbs. I'm really glad I did it. Didn't cost me anything.
