Adding a safe room in an existing basement

We have a basement with pour concrete walls. I'd like to add a safe room in the corner. There are three things that vex me. 1. Can I simply add walls on two sides with masonry blocks? If so, how do I attach the blocks to the existing walls? 2. What do I do for the ceiling? Pouring concrete would...

      Vault Doors?

I tried to search to find the thread but no luck. I remember reading on here a while back about someone who was making vault doors that could go into an opening in 8 inch thick concrete. I think the door cost around 1500 bucks. At least that's the most I can afford to spend when I build the...

The Gun Lovers Bookshelf - Awesome Concealed Storage

This is just awesome: Q-Line SafeGuard Shelving That's a pretty spectacular amount of storage space that's very well hidden IMO. Might be on the "if I ever win the lottery" list. :)

      Gun Vault??

We own a 50's vintage built house, with full basement, with a 10X8X8 tornado shelter built off of one basement wall. The room is totally block/concrete encased, with a 3' concrete ceiling that is actually the floor of my front porch. My thoughts are to seal/insulate/moisture barrier the walls...

      Vault door

I got my vault door primed and the plunger holes covered with pipe nipples that I welded on. My builder is going to put the door in before he pours the concrete so it will take an Abrams to pull it out. The pipe nipples will give it a little strength as well. :D

      False Wall

A post about gun vaults got me thinking (sometimes a dangerous thing!). Has anyone here ever considered a false wall to conceal guns & valuables? I've kicked the idea around since a burglary a few years back, but haven't gotten serious about it yet. Opinions?

HELP: Need a top loading auto pistol vault

I am looking for a auto safe/vault that is top loading. Similar to the one below. I'm not sure if I want the biometric type, as I don't want to have to worry about batteries going dead at an inopportune time, but I will leave it open for consideration. I also don't want to spend an arm...

I get to build a gun vault!

I just LOVE some of my customers! I took one of my better customers (my treat) to the Friends of the NRA banquet last year in West Lafayette. He bought a raffle ticket at the dinner for $20, and ended up winning a really nice camo'd Savage .22-250!:rockwoot: That MAY have been "the straw that...

Converting a closet to a safe

What I am doing for a safe is to convert one of the closets in my house. I am in the process of adding things to it. My main goal to begin with was to have a safe place to keep firearms, jewelry and other stuff from easy accessibility. I didn't like a lot of the other safes because of Cost...
