      Real Colt 1911?

      That's what it appears to be. Is there anywhere I can get the slide authenticated? If it's from WWI or WWII I wouldn't want to shoot it much but if it's a later make I'd like to take it to the range.

      Real Colt 1911?

      I acquired this from a family friend. I'm very confident the frame is a reproduction but wasn't sure if the slide was genuine. Is there any way to tell if it's a true WWI or WWII slide or a replica? Right side is marked Model of 1911 U.S. Army.
