      Apprenticeship/union in NWI? Advice needed

Hey! Thank you! I’ll try to get in where I can. The nearest REMC is about 40 miles but, I’ll see if I can get in there. I didn’t even think about linemen so I appreciate that! Do you know of any other jobs I can work that would get me relevant experience? I started applying to helper or...

      Apprenticeship/union in NWI? Advice needed

Thanks so much for replying! Very interesting. I’ll look this up when I get home. I live right on the border of Illinois so either Chicago or crown point wouldn’t be too far. What part of Chicago are you usually working in? Or is it all over Chicago? Do you happen to know the pay rate for...

      Apprenticeship/union in NWI? Advice needed

I am looking to switch career paths. I would like to get into in apprenticeship program. How can I get my foot in the door? I plan on dropping off my resume at halls where I am interested very soon. Some trade jobs I would consider are ironworker, millwright, machinist, sheet metal worker...

So far, I applied for to be an apprentice ironworker. I was looking into machinist and millwright as well. I always found welding interesting. One of my friend’s dad is a union welder and is often laid off. I’m not sure if it’s the union or if he’s the problem, though. Plumbing seems okay too...

Interesting. Thank you. What are the worst shifts? I am aiming for an apprenticeship somewhere if I can get in. I'm not looking forward to a pay cut but, it is what it is. I am intrigued by the last part of your response

Hahahaha never learning the proper ways of doing things xD thank you for the insight. The last part about working with a different union is interesting. I don’t think I’d leave the union if I get an opportunity. I’m done managing restaurants and want to learn some useful skills. I don’t think...

I printed out copies of my resume today and will be going around to halls where I am interested in within the next few days. I doubt they’re open tomorrow. I love hard work and learning. I’ve dealt with being pulled in different directions lol it’s funny to me, but I do as I’m told. I applied...

Does anyone know how I can get my foot in the door in a union? Remove if not allowed; I just don’t know anyone that’s in. I really want to get into an apprenticeship in NWI. I only have general manager experience so I think they wouldn’t give someone like me a chance

This was my most recent purchase. I got this at Cabela’s for 340! Nothing special really. I was browsing through their gun library and I couldn’t pass up on it. I could be wrong but to me it didn’t look abused. Also, your 1911 looks nice! Wow!

Ah ok ok I just saw the event’s section. I still have some clicking around to do. Sounds great. It’s nice to be a part of this community. I’m newer to the gun scene and I’m expanding my collection. I agree lol.. my most recent purchase was one that I “needed” to have lol
