A lot of giraffe bone is sold to knife makers for handle scales. If you want the raw material to make grips I would suggest the knife making supply companies.
The Lee liquid aloe is not going to work well for you as a bullet lube. It is very sticky and is not water soluble so very hard to get off of cases (I don’t want to think of the mess in the dies). There are lots of good case lubes out there, I would stick with those.
I have used similar profile in tubular magazines with no problems. I also agree that the FTX bullets are a much better choice overall for my lever gun.
My buddy and I are clearing out a bunch of hunting, shooting and camping equipment accumulated over many years. We want to clear these items out so they will be priced to sell! See the flyer below, but general categories are listed below:

If you are okay with making your own alloy from scrap and wheel weights, I have had good luck buying from local small scrap dealers. The big dealers (Omni Source and similar) do not want to sell to individuals, but small operations in small towns will sell in some cases.
Of all of the guns I own, my Marlin 1895SS is by far my favorite. The versatility in loading is unequaled by any other cartridge I shoot. With cast bullets and tiny charges of red dot powder I can shoot it for little more than the cost of .22LR; loaded to full power it is capable of taking...

Thanks for the info. I has compared the 250 gr monoflex to the 325 gr FTX and they were almost exact ally the same length. As a result, I trimmed my brass to the 2.040 you noted and as specified in the...
These are for hunting in a "rifle" state, so full-length.
I did look up the loading data for the Barnes 250 gr copper bullet and used that data as a guide. I put together some loads from this data, working up to the max load and watching for pressure signs. The bullets grouped very well at...
I recently received a box of these light bullets for the 45-70 and hoped to try them over the weekend. Unfortunately, I found that my Hornady manual does not list loads for this bullet. Has anyone found an effective load for this bullet, especially in the Marlin 1895? I welcome any...
