I do not see an issue with it. As long as the friend has a CCW and or hauls it properly in a vehicle (unloaded and the gun and ammo in different areas of the vehicle).
I do not currently own any guns with external safeties. However, i use to and always carried with the safety off. Just one less thing to think about when the S%#T hits the fan.

I would stay away from Keltec. I had a P3AT, it was no fun to shoot and in my opinion unreliable. I have a Kahr PM9 and S&W airlight. Both guns are reliable, fun to shoot, and conceal easily.
