      Logical extensions of bathroom decision

If you're not being harmed, then what specifically is supposed to be taken into account?

I'm sure there are polls both ways: Poll: 6-in-10 oppose bills like the North Carolina transgender bathroom law - CNNPolitics.com As for what makes it moral? That's easy. Are they harming anyone? If not, then what moral justification do I have for restricting them?

Nice assertion. Don't suppose it comes with any evidence?

Have you considered that people may be supporting LGBT rights not because it's cool, but because it's the moral thing to do?

Yes, if only the other side had its own organizational juggernaut in its corner. Perhaps a millennia-old one with 70% of the population as members?

We have two fundamentally incompatible cultures sharing a single land area. People are inevitably going to be offended.

Does the Constitution guarantee you the right not to be thought of as a bigot?

And twenty states explicitly banned civil unions. You sure you want to try to win this on numbers? But hey, keep arguing for "separate but equal" if you want.

      Logical extensions of bathroom decision

I'm not asking to be a jerk; I'm asking because I'm thinking back to the first thread on this topic where transgendered individuals were called freaks and whack jobs. How can that be reconciled with a pivot to saying that their lives have value?

      Trump, Clinton or Third Party

If the outcome is the same, does the reason behind it matter? Alinsky's rules were about aligning others' angst in a single coherent direction.

What's it to you? If you're convinced that it's all due to their choices, then why do you care whether they kill themselves?

You're still insisting this, even after being proven wrong last time? Civil Unions were explicitly denied in many "defense of marriage" amendments: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/U.S._state_constitutional_amendments_banning_same-sex_unions Since I've already relayed this information to you...

      Trump, Clinton or Third Party

I explicitly pointed out that both sides were doing it. Did you read the post, or just reply to what you imagine I said instead?

“Pick the target, freeze it, personalize it, and polarize it.” Alinsky's rules, it seems, are alive and well on both sides.

So long as they don't violate any laws, aren't the people "attacking" you just exercising their freedom of speech? I'm totally against death threats, swatting, doxing, etc., but just posting "this is so-and-so's business, here are some of the things he's said, vote with your wallet" - that's...

So what you're saying is that you want to be free to say what you want about transgendered individuals, but that you don't want others to say what they want about what you said? Seems selective.

How is that different from before social media? Did people not previously draw their own conclusions about the words and actions of others, and then act on those conclusions?

Facebook isn't forcing social change, either. It's just a bunch of people connected together; they still make their own decisions about who they want to interact with. It just lets them do so easier and faster - is efficiency not a good thing?

Facebook: the new Dungeons & Dragons rock and roll comic books jazz whatever it was before that. I wonder if they said the same thing about the wheel? "Ugg no like wheel. Wheel let people be lazy. Wheel cause moral decline."

Who's the judge? If it comes to that, a judge. This isn't any different than, say, figuring out whether a marriage is real or just to get a green card. This isn't a new idea by any means.
