      Thompson Center .308, beginner rifle?

      I am considering the deal they have with the Vortex Crossfire II. It is still hunting season and I can't find any good deals on Savage 110s used. Most inventory seems low. I may also just save for a SA Precision faaaar down the road. I think tax season will bring out some good used deals.

      Good points! I agree with you. I looked at the Axis and Patrol MVPs, not for me for reasons you mentioned. Have you tried the Compass? Even critics seem to like its bedding, trigger and accuracy. I figure the finish will not be great, have to see about fit.

      Went with the Raw Dog Tactical option. They mold it specifically for the SD. I will need to order an extra mag now. Seems like most manufacturers arent supporting the SD bc its so inexpensive. Will order Ameriglos next and hopefully the holster works out.
