I agree---the music was excellent. I honestly didn't make a connection to Islam. It appeared, to me anyway, that they were trying to say that he was a prophet. I took notice of the name "Eli" (a reference to Elijah?) and when Eli stated that he felt a calling and that he felt he would be protected wherever he went. I assumed they intended for him to be a Christian prophet because he was carrying a Bible for 30 years, but I could be wrong. When I get a chance to rewatch it I'll definitely pay closer attention to the allegorical references.
What I can remember is the Quran, the Torah, I think there was the Book of Mormon as well. There may have been a volume of Shakepeare. Now I want to rewatch it again!
