No argument about that.. great for a hard use gun. Duracoat is still a good finish and proper prep work helps any finish. Plus it's cheaper and I can apply it with an airbrush and get good work without hauling it to somebody else.
    Here's a little secret....

Cerakote can be done at home too. With pretty much the same prep. Only difference is the oven cure side.

I will say, the air cure version of cerakote is MUCH better than DuraCoat.

Just like any other "paint job" a lot of the work is in the prep. It needs to get heated so the oils all come out or you get a crappy look. Chief Machine and Tool is open for business in North Webster.

Cerakote isn't difficult but the proper steps needs to be taken to apply it correctly . Proper blast media , the correct cleaning before blasting, proper temperature , tip size on the gun , spray pattern, ect .
I'm far from being an expert, but I'm really good at it . My first response should've been more in depth.
There is no need to laser the existing role marks again as has been mentioned up thread . You can have them recolored to stand out if you want but the cerakote is thin enough that you can plainly see anything that was previously there before ,
including dings , gouges Etc . Of course the dings ,gouges ect can be fixed .
It all depends on how much you want to spent
    Hope this has been helpful.
More than happy to share before and after pictures.
    Best of luck
