So , NE Hamilton County, yesterday I watched 6 or 7 older, unmarked white school buses full of people drive by headed westbound followed but several vehicle pulling trailers with port-o-potties on them. Just watched another one go by a few minutes ago.

Anyone know what this might be? My mind initially went to illegal immigrants being transported someplace for temporary housing. Could be that but it could also be seasonal immigrant workers perhaps. Anyone seen this and know what the scoop is?

It's the Becks field crews. Most of your AO is owned or leased by Beck' Hybrids. Migrant worker season is here, and you will be seeing similar until harvest. They are out collecting field data, including weed species and pollination rates. They built a good size housing compound on the SW side of Atlanta for them.

    That's an awful long commute.

When I de-tasseled corn for 2 weeks in 1978 we rode a bus from the highschool to the fields every morning for an hour.

I made just enough to buy my Centurion 10-speed bike for $179. That was a relatively expensive bicycle at the time.

Edit: the fields we worked were for Pioneer

My fathers personal slaves de flowered "topped" the tobacco plants, as so they didn't get pollinated from another farm growing different tobaccos.

Makes sense. I'm very well acquainted with Beck's, hard not to be living around here lol. This is my 5th summer here and this is the first time I recall seeing them. Could be due to Hamilton County having an ordinance requiring a minimum of 35% of the county roads be under construction during the summer months. :lmfao: :lmfao: :lmfao: :lmfao:

And it's been that way since 1988. We were just up at Deer Creek for the REO concert Wednesday and I'm pretty certain that my wife and I passed the same set of barrels on 465 that was there when we were dating in '88...
Good Lord, I'd figure those things would be collecting a healthy state pension by now.
