    A holler in Kentucky
I live on the Ohio River, and last year or the year before, when a lot of places had huge swarms of them, we had nothing, not even as many as normal years, but a tenth of a mile away at the boat ramp, they were everywhere.

None here in my woods, but my woods is about 20 years old. It used to be farm ground, so the little buggers may start this way. Now, about 300 yards east is the now new National Park. May have to go poke around.

..... formerly near the Wild Turkey
I have an acre near Lowell in south lake county and most of my trees have thousands of live and dead ones around the base of each one. I know several people within 10 miles of me that have none. They are so loud that they are making people crazy. A neighbor went kind of nuts from the noise and started harassing other neighbors and they had to call the cops on him,

I'm 10 miles north of Lowell and have yet to see the first one.

Only one I've seen so far. Drown in my gutter. Dang cottonwood clogged all but one of my gutters.

Same here. At least I don't think I've heard any. I kind of hear them all the time with my tinnitus. :):
Well it could be my tinnitus is drowning them out but my wife isn't complaining about them so I don't think they're functioning right now. LOL Although I will say this there's a **** ton of birds around our house. I guess they eat those right I don't know anything about cicadas.

Well I just looked it up so apparently one of the birds that really loves cicadas are Blue Jays, the assholes of the Skies. And we have them around here in several squadrons strength so maybe that's why we don't have them. Which explains why I've seen an uptick in Blue Jays around the house

My woods is 20ish years old, so the brood probably set up shop here now. South of me are more established trees. The cicadas were constant and loud, but I think they are done or finishing up. The noise when you opened the door was annoying for sure. One morning, I opened the door early and it was quiet thinking it was over, boy was I wrong. An hour later they woke up. Pretty sure if I see one now it is a straggler. I do run into wings and such in the aftermath.

I have a friend in the Lowell area that shared a picture of her peony bush absolutely covered with them.
This is a family friendly forum mom!…if your going to share pictures of peony bushes please make sure the peony bush is covered!…uncovered peony bushes might draw the ire of the mods!

Had the extension ladder out, so I decided to check the gutters after Beryl came through. You guessed it, cicadas caked around the baskets. *mental note for next round*
