My son's GF has one that is a POS. One of his friends, who is a Gunners Mate in the Navy and our go to gun fixer guy has fixed it 2 times, something about the spring popping and not staying where it is supposed to. This last (3rd) time he suggested throwing it in the dumpster.

Mrs Monkey carried one for a while until I finally convinced her that the G19 is better for her. (after her repeately being amazed at how well she did when I would hand her mine at the range)

They are "OK" guns. Decent for the price.

    Beats a sharp stick.

I had a first generation, but even in my very young days of handgun ownership recognized it to be sub par. I heard gen 2 was better but didn't bother to investigate personally.

I reported my experiences with a CPX-2 Gen3 in another thread (or maybe it was this one?) a few months back. Total POS. P!$$-poor customer service. Complete waste of whatever I spent on it. Never, not even once, did it get through an entire magazine with a mis-feed, failure to extract, to feed, to eject, and the second round in EVERY magazine nose-dived. Please don't suggest limp-wristing. I shoot a 442, CM9, P32, and now an LCP just fine. I am quite used to getting good performance out of teeny-tiny little things. :)

My friend has a Taurus. He likes it. When on sale, I think the Ruger EC9S is another good choice for a couple of dollars more (per Guns.com).

as much as it pains me to say this, i would reccommend a taurus g2c first. The SCCY trigger is long heavy and long. i found it difficult to shoot accurately with out a lot of practice and work with the trigger, and im a pretty decent shot for the most part.

The optionsd from taurus have a very solid history of reliability in the G2c series, and would be worth ponying up a little bit more for if possible
I am by no means a "trigger snob". I have some very nice triggers but my EDC is a stock glock (trigger which I do not mind one bit). However, the trigger on a SCCY may be the worst thing I have ever pulled. I have a bullpup conversion on a high point carbine that is incredibly sloppy and heavy but it doesn't hold a candle to the long and heavy pull of the SCCY. I too became a very bad shot with this gun.
